Romantic mountain lodges
Amidst the lush green of the Alpine pastures and well cared for by social and friendly hosts, the Carinthian delicacies taste the best. To recharge your batteries after an extended hiking tour or to enjoy the traditional Alpine flair, stop at one of the many lodges near the hiking trails.
With the Kanzelbahn cable car to an altitude of almost 2,000 m
With the panorama Kanzelbahn cable car and the Gipfelbahn chairlift you rise above everyday life in only 20 minutes to an altitude of almost 2,000 m. Having arrived at the top, you can enjoy the unique panoramic views of Carinthia’s lakes, mountain ranges, the town of Villach and as far as beyond the province.
Nordic Walking
At an altitude of 1,440 m, at the area of the Kanzelhöhe middle station, there are several Nordic walking trails for your health and fitness training. The trails are classified into three difficulty levels, they are consistently marked and provided with check points.
Sparkling Gerlitzen water
The four mountain reservoirs provide
tingling refreshment after a long
hiking tour – enjoy the sparkling water of the
"Almsee" mountain lake in summer. There, children can splash around
and play to their hearts’ content while their parents can
relax on the shores and enjoy the mountain sun.
