Towards the sky
Due to the special thermals, Gerlitzen is a paradise for paragliders, hang gliders and the numerous model aircraft flyers alike.
Paragliding and hang gliding
The starting points are not far from our hotel, near the mountain terminal of the Gerlitzen Gipfelbahn chairlift. Thanks to the views of Carinthia’s lakes and the marvellous mountains, Gerlitzen is one of the most beautiful mountains for flying in Austria. Starts are possible in all directions, except the north.
Tandem flights
Next to an experienced tandem pilot, you will have the possibility to experience the
Carinthian landscape of mountains and lakes from a bird’s eye view. There
is a paragliding school as well as several tandem flight providers
on site.
Model aircraft flying
Hardly any pilot is immune to the appeal of Alpine gliding. From large gliders and F3B/F3J models to hand launch gliders – here you can fly everything. Thanks to the wide starting and landing areas and the optimal Alpine thermals, Gerlitzen is also perfectly suitable for "beginners" of Alpine gliding.
