Better than flying...

The skiing mountain for families that offers extensive views

Winterprospekt 2010/11

Thanks to the wide slopes and the gently descending pistes, the Gerlitzen in Carinthia is a particularly family friendly ski resort.

Learning how to ski made easy! Near the middle station, at 1,526 m above sea level, you’ll find a perfect practice area. Gentle slopes with a snow guarantee make learning easy, and the comfortable cable cars ensure optimum relaxation between the “practice units”. Already after a few days you’ll take the new 8-seater chairlift (the first 8-seater chairlift in Carinthia) to the peak at 1,911 m above sea level. Among the highlights that can be enjoyed by the whole family are the over 5 km long, varied run to the valley with a difference in altitude of 1,000 metres down to Arriach-Klösterle, or the 1.7 km long Gegendtalpiste. The Wörtherseepiste also offers breathtaking panoramic views on a length of 1.5 km.

Snow bear land for the smallest skiers

There are several children’s and snow bear areas which always have a varied programme for the little ones on offer and guarantee to keep boredom at bay. The popular mascot of the ski resort, Bino the bear, visits the kids‘ land frequently to have a bit of fun with the little ones. All-day child care is provided by perfectly trained staff who teach the children the very basics of skiing in a playful way.

Après-ski tobogganing on the Gerlitzen

A fun adventure for all ages

After a leisurely 10 minute walk, we’ll get to where Franz Pacheiner's piste basher stops and he will chauffeur us with ease with his special taxi to the summit. There we’ll have a stop at the nice and cosy Pacheiner lodge. Perfectly equipped with a toboggan, an exciting ride with views of the wonderful sunset can begin. At the end we will be awaited by our special taxi to bring us back. Such a trip promises lot of fun for all ages!

Kids’ club in the hotel

After skiing, the kids are awaited by plenty of fun activities in the hotel’s kids’ club in the afternoon and in the evening.

All children from the age of 4 are welcome to play in the kids’ club or in the indoor swimming pool, to participate in the creativity programmes, to join the kids‘ table with children’s meals in the evening, or to end the day with various tournaments, children’s and teenagers‘ disco and lots of other exciting things. What’s more, there’s a teenscorner with a PlayStation and Nintendo Wii.

For toddlers there’s a play corner in the kids‘ club where they can discover lots of new things together with their parents.
